"Grooves" by Christain Rosa Robles was Christain's first full-length play produced. It marked the beginning of his full-time writing journey and was a milestone in his artistic career. Through the guidance and help of Roundabout Theatre Company and Roundabout Youth Ensemble, Christain was able to bring this vision to life and give actors, designers, creatives, and audiences across New York a world to be immersed in.

"Writing my thorough review of “Grooves” by Christain Rosa Robles while it’s still fresh in my mind.
I don’t think I’ve beamed that much in a very long time, my cheeks hurt from smiling and my throat hurt from screaming. From the double meaning in the title to the perfect balance of comedy and honesty, Grooves is a special show written by a special person. Every character had their own complicated feelings, a real purpose, and their own home to find. Every element was undeniably home, entrancing, and candid, and it all came together to encapsulate the simple human feelings of loss, hope, fear, and love. I think so many people are asking for a Grooves 2 because this world that was created is something so easy to fall in love with. The music, the care, the mess-ups, and the reconciliations. Christain touched all the bases with his focus on every little detail, onstage and off. A couple of my favorite parts of the experience were reading the record display in the lobby and the playwright's note in the playbill. This play is everything any music-loving, nostalgia-yearning, queer teenager could ever want! Christain has a natural gift and a natural love. The woman behind me on this bus just said “I don’t like feminine men”, but I think if she saw Grooves, she would change her mind."
